Mail In Rebates - A Waste of Time

Well this is the time for lots of money spending. Well let me make you guys aware of a little situation I'm having with "Mail In Rebates/Easy Rebates." First, they're a waste of time! But if you are intrested by them be warned from my situation!

I bought two items on the same day with rebates. One was mail in and one was an e-rebate!

The mail-in was with Staples for $5.00. The E-Rebate was with CompUSA for over $90 in rebates for a cable modem. These items were bought on the same day! Well the mail-in rebate is already been put in the bank and spent. The modem rebates are still pending! I've called and emailed CompUSA and they keep saying I need to put a conformation into their system. Well guess what I have time and time again and it's still not showing up.

So be warned when you use mail-in/e-rebates, don't expect your money back! Just be glad if you do get the rebate!

My Views on NFR 2006

Views from NFR 2006 Dec 6-10, 2006: I graded every main experience on a scale of 1-10 this year with 10 being best.

Enterprise Rent A Car – A 2, barely! Don’t rent from them EVER!

Traffic in Las Vegas – A 3, horrible but I guess not bad for a big city!

Fry’s Electronics – 8, Sorry I’m half techno geek and the only thing I regret about Fry’s is there is not one in Albuquerque and I have no $$ to spend there!

Cowboy Christmas – 6, parking climbed to $10 and there is just too much to see. Glad I’d seen most of it over the years.

South Point Casino – 7, Clean open environment. Looks like the new cowboy hang out in Vegas! Buffet wasn’t bad and was priced about right!

Terrible’s Casino – 7, Good food, fair price and slow service.

Bucking Stock Sale – 9, A must attend. Reason I rate it low is because not all lots are in program and a riders insert would be nice!

Sam’s Town – 3, Poor Service, Poor food Quality.

Sheplers Tent Sale – 6, Nothing I haven’t seen there past few years. Prices seem to creep up and not much for us fat boys!

Gift show at Mandalay Bay – 4, Decent show with manure for parking = average at best! Parking is like that again we’ll bypass it like we did the Sands Show.

Las Vegas Outlet Mall – 7, Prices seem to go up every year! But if you’re not afraid of a little bargain hunting this isn’t a bad place!

Las Vegas Hilton Buffet – 4, High priced for just about average food. And the Star Trek Experience is almost $40 a person.

Las Vegas Fashion Show(Mall) – 8, Can’t afford much there, didn’t think I could. But it’s a fun people watching experience none the less! Check out the ticket outlet there, lots of good prices on discounted tickets!

Treasure Island Buffet – 6, Smallish and pricey but the food was better than most places. Ok so that’s not saying much so I gave it an Avg.

New Frontier Casino – 4, Long lines and a smoked out smell didn’t leave a warm fuzzy with me! Sorry just don’t like to stand in 2 hour lines for nothing, especially a bar. Even if it is Gilley’s!

The Mardi Gras – 5, Off the strip and close to the convention center (Walked there twice). Clean rooms, well cleaner than the Stardust was the last two years! Decent food and a decent price. And slot machines that took coins. So ok I’d rather been on the strip, but for the $$ you can’t beat it!

McCarran International – 4, ok so no airport is very good anymore. But I learned the secret here. Show up before 6am! Spent 15 minutes in line and an extra hour at the gate!

NFR Round 3

Congratulations to all of the winners tonight. BJ Schumacher made the only qualified ride in the eliminator pen of the bulls. While Kelly Maben won her second straight round in Barrel Racing. In addition our prayers for a speedy recovery go out to Bull riders Matt Austin and Sonny Murphy; both have sustained injuries that will prevent them from finishing finals.

NFR Round 2

Probably the best pen of Bulls at the NFR got tamed tonight. Even an 89 wasn’t good enough to place in the money. Zeb Lanham won the round on Smokeless Wardance of Broken Arrow/Thomas Taylor. Congratulations to all of tonight’s winners
